I still remember the thrill I felt when I discovered the web for the first time as a teenager. I didn't own a mobile device or computer at the time, so I would spend time in cyber cafes surfing the web.
Looking back I didn't do anything significant during those long trips to the cyber cafe. I mostly chatted with strangers on Yahoo Messenger (remember that?) and visited the websites of the hip-hop artists I was digging then.
All the same, my love relationship with design and technology began during that period. But it wasn't until eight years later that I began a career in design – and that was after spending five excruciating years studying a course I wasn't excited about at university.
Why did it take that long? There were several reasons, but a key one was not knowing enough about the possibilities that existed in design and technology. I didn't see them as a viable career path because I wasn't aware (it was either Medicine, Law or Engineering for the most part).

What I love most about my job is the fact that I can see the transformation in the lives of individuals who go through our programs and the fact that participants are in turn able to enhance and improve their lives and performance.
I think my career path can be traced way back in my years in high school when a certain trainer came and did a great inspirational speech which I can say created a u-turn in my life. He created in me a desire to live a life of impact, meaning, and purpose and I shifted my priorities to work hard to ensure I get to the university to study my dream course which was Economics and Finance. By God's Grace, I made it to the course.
However, on my first day at university, I felt so uncomfortable when I asked myself what I was doing to reach the young people and generation which the trainer could not reach. This question really made me uneasy and that was when I decided to do talks in high schools to inspire and transform people. I've been doing that since then all the way till when I founded our current company which I'm honored to lead.
This career path is rare and in this part of the world, personal development is not that valued and seen as important. As a result, I had to do a lot of convincing and hard work in showing and educating people about the importance of training, public speaking and the entire personal development journey which should actually be a priority in the lives of people.
My greatest source of inspiration is seeing individuals who transform their lives because of the influence and contribution we have had on them. Seeing lives transform is a big motivation that keeps us doing what we do. This keeps me going in spite of the challenges that may come along the way.
Have the best intention and passion for this career. It is actually a calling and can be able to gain you a lot of satisfaction when you see lives improve and individuals get better in their lives. If you truly feel the need to go through this journey, please feel welcome. Looking forward to having you onboard.
